Plain version first: post your own work, be useful to other people, and do not use the mentor directory as a link farm. The rest is detail.
Who you are agreeing with
No Concept Design is run by SwansonX LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company based in Brainerd, Minnesota. When these terms say we, that is who they mean. Write to sean@swansonx.com and a person reads it.
Who can have an account
You need to be 16 or over. Reading the wall does not need an account and never will, so nothing here is closed to anyone younger. Posting work and leaving critique are, because both mean putting your name and your files in front of strangers. If we learn that an account holder is under 16, the account is closed and its content removed.
Your work stays yours
You keep every right you had in anything you upload. By posting, you give No Concept Design permission to store your files and display them on the site so that other members can critique them. That permission ends when you take the post down, except for copies already made in normal backups.
Post only what you may post
Do not upload work you do not have the right to show. Client work under NDA is your responsibility, not ours. If a rights holder asks us to remove something, we will. Write to sean@swansonx.com.
Conduct
The critique guidelines are part of these terms. Accounts that attack people rather than work, spam, or post other people's work as their own can be suspended. Suspension leaves your content in place and is reversible; you are told the reason.
The mentor directory
Listings are free, reviewed by a person, and revocable. The followed link in a listing is a benefit of an active listing, not a purchased placement and not a permanent one. Listings that go inactive are removed automatically. Applying in order to obtain a link, rather than to mentor, is grounds for refusal or removal.
Messages
You decide who can open a thread with you, and blocking closes one in both directions. Using messages to pitch services, recruit in bulk, or harass anyone is grounds for suspension. Threads are private — moderators cannot read one — so a message you want acted on has to be reported, which shares that single message with them.
The job board
Posting is free and stays free. Every posting is reviewed by a person before it appears, must state what the work pays, and comes down automatically after 45 days. Every link on a posting is nofollow without exception, so posting here passes no search authority — if that is why you are posting, it will not work. Post roles you are actually filling: listings gathering CVs on spec are declined. You deal with applicants directly; we take no fee and never see who applied. What a posting says about pay, and everything else in it, is the poster's representation and not ours.
Moderators
Some accounts are moderators. They can remove any post, critique or posting and can suspend a member account; every one of those actions is written to an audit log. They cannot appoint other moderators, and they cannot read your messages. Moderator accounts are marked as such on their profiles, because who moderates should not be a secret.
No warranty
Critique here is opinion offered by other members. It is not professional advice and nobody is liable for what you do with it. The site is provided as it is.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, and the courts of Minnesota have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you deal with us as a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away the protections your own country gives you.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the change is announced on the site before it takes effect.
